The North Strip

I’m here to break down some of the most popular places and hidden gems in Las Vegas. Since there is so much to see and do, I have broken down each section of the strip into 3 different places to explore. This blog is all about the North end of the Las Vegas Strip. This area includes from the Strat Hotel all the way south to Venetian/ Palazzo. I’m Christina and I absolutely love Las Vegas! Here is the breakdown of some of my favorite places and hidden gems on the North end of the Las Vegas Strip.

Popular Food

  • Tacos El Gordo: Known for is cheap tacos and other authentic Mexican Food. This is a great place to stop in and grab a couple of tacos to go. This is a very popular place and can get busy but the line moves fast and everything is always fresh.
  • El Segundo Sol at Fashion Show Mall: Located on the first floor of the Fashion Show Mall lies this amazing place. Themed after the beautiful coastal town of Tulum Mexico, this restaurant offer comforting dishes that will make you feel one margarita away from the beach. El Segundo Sol offers a wide variety of authentic margaritas and tequilas.
  • Happy Camper: Located right outside of the Fashion Show Mall, this place takes a pizza party to another level with their campsite themed restaurant. They have taken all the fun parts of camping and dropped it on the north end of the Las Vegas strip. They have games to play in their patio area, and a fire pit. Happy camper offers brunch and dinner service, and the menu mostly consists of pizza and wings. They also have really fun drinks and cocktails. This is the perfect hangout spot that is right on the Las Vegas strip.
  • The Noodle Den at Sahara Hotel and Casino: Located inside of Sahara Hotel and Casino, this Asian inspired restaurant offers hand pulled noodles and dumplings. Inspired by Northern Chinese dishes, The Noodle Den offer a variety of noodle dishes as well as other classic Chinese dishes. This place is definitely a hidden gem on the north part of the strip.

Popular Brunch Spots

  • La Fontaine At Fontainebleau: This is a beautiful restaurant located inside of Fontainebleau. Inspired by the beauty and decadence of French cuisine, La Fontaine’s brunch servicer offers a variety of dishes as well as a champagne paring.
  • Jardin At The Wynn: This is the ultimate brunch spot. Surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants, Jardin elevates your brunch to the next level with its beautiful ambiance. They tend to get very popular so be sure to make a reservation, and do not skip out on the French Toast!
  • Peppermill: A popular diner most known for its old school Vegas decor with neon lights, conversation pit in the Fireside lounge. They are also known for there huge portions. Be sure to bring an appetite.
  • Suns Out Buns Out At Resorts World: This is a very cute quick service breakfast and brunch spot that offers breakfast sandwiches, burgers and small plates. This is a great place to gab a quick bite for breakfast or an early lunch.

Places to visit: North Strip

  • Las Vegas Convention Center/ Vegas Loop: If you are in town for a one of the thousands of conventions that Las Vegas hosts you need to try the Vegas loop located inside of Resorts World. This is an underground tunnel that allows you to drive a Tesla from Resorts World, to two different parts of the convention center. It cuts a 25 minute walk down to a two minute drive.
  • Lake Of Dreams At The Wynn: This is a beautiful lake that performs a beautiful interactive show which includes lights, water and beautiful pieces of art in a dreamy atmosphere. You can catch this show for free
  • Adventure Dome Indoor Theme Park: Located inside of Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, this is perfect place to take the kids to burn off some steam and have a great time. This is a great place for all ages. They have rollercoasters, carnival like games, and smaller rides for the little ones. You can be in here all day and have a great time.
  • The Welcome To Las Vegas Sign: This is a new sign that was recently put up on this part of Las Vegas strip that is located next to the Strat Hotel. Most people don’t know about this sign as it was put up in 2020. The Gateway Arches are about 7 tons with a large ‘Welcome To Las Vegas’ Sign that hangs down. If you are in the area, check it out.

Day Clubs and Nightlife

The North strip has a great variety of nightlife. You can club hop all night and have such a different experience at each place. Here is a list of nightclubs and day clubs that are located on the North Strip

  • Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World: This glamorous nightclub is located inside of Resorts World and plays a variety of Hip Hop music. Check their website here for a list of DJ’s and dates.
  • Ayo Day Club at Resorts World: This day club is beautiful outdoor pool inspired by Southeast Asia’s idyllic islands. This day club plays similar music to Resort World’s Nightclub Check out their website for ticket info and a calendar of DJ’s
  • LIV Nightclub At Fontainebleau: This nightclub is absolutely stunning. LIV is a one of Las Vegas most luxurious nightclubs. The lights, the energy and atmosphere is one of a kind. The music lineup is mostly EDM and hip hop music.
  • LIV Day Club At Fontainebleau: Themed like the tropical Miami, LIV Day Club is one of the hottest day clubs in the city. They offer lots of big headliners to DJ, with similar music as the LIV Nightclub.
  • XS Nightclub At The Encore: This nightclub is unlike no other club in Vegas. This nightclub is surrounded by Encore European pool. This club was themed around the curvy shape of the human body, which shows in its elegant and curvy design. What makes XS different than the other nightclubs on the strip is that they offer a night swim that is surrounded by the nightclub. Its such a fun combination of pool party and nightclub all themed around this curvy and elegant venue.

Shopping

The North end of the strip offers a large variety of shopping from high end to low end. Here are some places to shop on the North end of the Las Vegas Strip

  • Fashion Show Mall: This mall is located across the street from the Wynn Hotel. They offer a wide variety of shopping with lots of big name retail stores. whatever brand you are looking for, they have it for sure.
  • Bonanza Gift Shop: This store is your one stop shop for all Las Vegas souvenirs. They are located on the far North end of the Strip located next to the Strat Hotel. This is the largest gift shop in the world with over 40,000 sq feet of fabulous souvenirs.
  • The Wynn Plaza/ Esplanade Shops: This mall section of the Wynn offers a large variety of high end shops such as Prada, Fendi, and Alexander McQueen. This area of shops also has a larger variety of high end jewelry stores such as Cartier, and Rolex.
  • The District at Resorts World: The District Shops offer over 35,000 square feet of shopping from a large variety of stores from home goods, to handmade jewelry. If you are looking for unique one of a kind gifts or souvenirs, this is a place to check out.

Gambling

The North end of the strip has a large variety of gambling. Whatever you game is, the north strip has what you need to have high steaks fun.

  • Wynn Casino: This is a beautiful Casino surrounded by a floral oasis. At the Wynn, they offer a variety of table games as well as the most updated slot machines. The Wynn also has a state of the art poker room along with poolside gaming.
  • Fontainebleau Casino: This is the Las Vegas strips newest casino with a variety of slots, and table games. With a new sophisticated look, this casino also offers a high limit room and a beautiful sports book. For a more intimate gaming experience, this casino has the Solo Club. This is a small private lounge that offers blackjack and roulette. Fontainebleau also has a poolside gaming lounge for your enjoyment.
  • Casino at Resorts World: This is an elegant and bright casino with a wide variety of table games and slot machines.
  • Slots O Fun At Circus Circus: This is a circus themed casino where you can find one of the only places that use real coins in the slot machines. Located inside right outside of Circus Circus Hotel and casino. If you are a fan of the old school slot machines, you should check this place out to feel a piece of nostalgia.
  • Sahara Hotel and Casino: This is a fun and unique casino with over 60,000 square feet of gaming. Surrounded by beautiful colors and chandeliers, this casino offers a variety of tables games including double zero roulette, which is the best you will find on the strip.
  • Westgate Casino: This is a huge casino wit over 90,000 square feet of gaming space. The Westgate always has some sort of gaming event going on such as a car giveaway, or cash giveaway. The Westgate Casino also offers a large sports book and a high limit lounge as well.

Navigating the North Strip

While pedestrian bridges are less frequent past the Wynn/Encore, making walking distances longer, it’s advisable to be cautious after dark near the Strat Hotel due to reported higher crime rates.

Transportation Available on north strip

  • Las Vegas Monorail: The Monorail has 3 stops on the north side: Sahara Station, Westgate, and Convention Center
  • Las Downtown Loop: This is a free bus that starts at the Strat Hotel and goes all the way to Downtown Las Vegas, through Fremont Street and the Art District. Once it reaches its last stop, it loops back to the Strat Hotel. This is a great free option for people who stay North strip and want to get downtown.

There is a lot so see and do on the North end of the Las Vegas Strip. Hopefully this brief breakdown of some popular places can help make your next Las Vegas adventure one to remember.
